There’s also a gel feature that tells you exactly which gels to use to correct a specific color cast.

The ability to test the quality of light and color rendition alone is what makes this tool worth the investment. You can’t go wrong with a meter made by Sekonic, a leading industry brand of color and light meters for decades. 

Recommended alternative: LightSpectrum Pro app - in my testing, It’s fairly close to the color readings of the Sekonic meter. However, Sekonic is loaded with many useful metrics that the app does not have.

Pros: color matching accuracy + several useful color metrics.

Cons: pricey, no light metering.
